My approach to documentary photography is to focus on capturing authentic, emotive scenes, particularly in my native Northern Ireland. My images often explore themes of landscape, culture, and community, with an emphasis on portraying the raw and natural beauty of the environment and everyday life.
The aim is to embody the core principles of documentary photography by emphasising realism and a deep connection to place, using available light and natural compositions to immerse viewers in the scenes I photograph. This approach aligns with a commitment to realism and serves to deepen the narrative qualities of the image..
